Traffic tickets
A contravention results from an offense to law or
regulation. This offense is generally punishable by a fine. For there to be a
contravention, there must necessarily be a violation of a law or a rule. Any
contravention gives rise to the filing of a statement of offense. This finding
commonly referred to as Traffic tickets are produced by a
peace officer, police officer or another representative of laws and
regulations. A statement of offense is a legal document under which any
criminal prosecution is brought. Generally, this document is given to a person
or entity to inform them that they are accused of committing an act prohibited
by law and that legal proceedings against them are initiated. The statement of
the offense indicates the amount of the fine and the costs claimed.
